WHO I AM
I'm Marlene Cortés, Principal Consultant of Alianza Access Consulting and co-founder of the Monroe County Language Access Coalition (MCLAC) — the only coalition in New York State integrating advocacy for both Limited English Proficient and Deaf communities under one unified model. For over 30 years, I have worked at the intersection of language access, civil rights, and community advocacy — bridging the gap for LEP, Deaf, and hard-of-hearing communities and the organizations that serve them. Based in Rochester, NY. Serving New York State.

A hearing-led prerequisite training for organizations working alongside Deaf communities. Because how you communicate about and with Deaf individuals matters — and getting it wrong causes real harm.

Drawing on the only coalition model in New York State uniting LEP and Deaf advocacy, we support organizations in building and sustaining coalitions that center every community facing a language barrier.
